SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, end their two-game home stand with a loss to the South Bay Lakers 119-110 on Saturday night at the Maverik Center.

Five Stars finished in double figures, while three notched double-doubles. Salt Lake was led by Frank Jackson, who scored a team-high 23 points on 6-of-17 from the field and 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. Johnny Juzang captured his first double-double of the season, tallying 22 points to go with 10 rebounds, along with three assists as a reserve. Jazz two-way Micah Potter achieved a game-high 13 rebounds, and matched with 13 points. Utah Jazz assignment player Leandro Bolmaro posted 12 points and an impressive 10 assists. Center Tyler Cook added 14 points and 9 rebounds to the stat sheet for the Stars.

The Lakers were led by Scottie Pippen Jr. who tallied a game-high 31 points, along with six assists for South Bay. Shaquille Harrison filled the stat sheet with 10 points, eight rebounds, 9 assists, and five steals. Jay Huff finished with 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Seven South Bay players scored in double-figures.

In the first quarter the Stars were able to spread their offense throughout their starters and bench players, with Jackson scoring eight-points on two-of-three shooting, while Juzang came off the bench to chip in five. The Lakers led by as many as 11 points due to Salt Lake's seven turnovers. However, the Stars were able to slim that margin to six, ending the opening quarter 34-28.

The Stars entered the second with some steam, as Micah Potter opened with a three-point shot to tie the game 34-34. Jackson and Juzang kept the competition within reach as the half came to a close at 65-53.

Salt Lake City found some rhythm in the third, cutting the Lakers' lead to single-digits and out-scoring South Bay 33-27. The home team's offensive push was powered by their defense scoring another eight-points off the Lakers turnovers.

Entering the final frame, the Lakers continued to hold the advantage, owning an 111-101 lead with 2;32 minutes left to play. Pippen's fourth-quarter contribution of 11 points pushed the Lakers out on top with a 119-110 victory.

Salt Lake City heads on a three-game road trip to face the Ontario Clippers back-to-back on Monday, Jan. 23 and Wednesday, Jan. 25. Both games will tip off at 8 p.m. (MT) at Toyota Arena, and will be broadcast live on NBAGLeague.com.
