
Warriors Fall to Capitanes to Split Two-Game Series

MEXICO CITY, MX - The Santa Cruz Warriors (4-7) fell to the Mexico City Capitanes (8-3), 128-117, on Sunday evening at Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, MX.
Guard Dusty Hannahs led the Warriors with a season-high 32 points and guard Jordan Schakel followed with 22 points off the bench. Guard Zeke Moore scored 14 points and guards Jerome Robinson and Pat Spencer added 13 points each.
Mexico City was led by guard Mason Jones with 36 points and guard Shabazz Napier added 29 points off the bench. Forward Justin Minaya and center Kenneth Faried finished the night with 19 points and eight rebounds each.
The Warriors trailed the first nine minutes of the game and then the teams went back and forth to move into the second frame tied at 30. The game had six lead changes throughout the second quarter before the Warriors took the momentum and closed the first half with a 60-57 lead.
The game stayed competitive throughout the third quarter, but the Capitanes were able to take a slim lead, closing out the quarter with a 93-92 advantage over the Sea Dubs. The Warriors offense fought back in the fourth quarter, but could not regain the lead, falling to the Capitanes, 128-117.
