FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks dropped the second game of their series with the St. Paul Saints by a score of 4-2 at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, ND. The RedHawks are now 2-4 on the year. The Saints are 4-2.

The Saints took advantage of early errors by the RedHawks to build a 2-0 lead in the first inning. They widened that lead by scoring two more runs in the second inning.

Jim Fasano got the offense started for the RedHawks in the second inning with a line drive into right field. Kole Zimmerman advanced him to second with a base hit of his own, and a double by Brian Ruggiano scored him.

The RedHawks struck again in the fifth inning. A hit by Jason James was followed by an error and two fielder's choice plays which allowed him to advance and score. The inning was ended by a third straight fielder's choice ground ball.

Those two runs were not enough. Oliver Odle received the loss (0-2), despite pitching eight full innings and only allowing two earned runs. Matt Long earned the win and improved his record to 1-1. Robert Manuel pitched a one-two-three ninth inning for the save.

The RedHawks will continue their series with St. Paul on Wednesday. Game time is 11:00 a.m. for the RedHawks annual School Day game. Autographs will be available after the game.
