Grand Prairie 4, Lincoln 0
Grand Prairie AirHogs starter Greg Smith was sensational in the 4-0 win over the Lincoln Saltdogs. The lefty tossed a complete game shutout allowing only five hits while fanning nine batters. Smith is now 1-0 on the season with the win. AirHogs 3-4-5 batters of 3B Cesar Nicolas, DH Greg Porter and 1B John Alonso each collected two hits to lead the offense. In the losing effort for Lincoln, leadoff hitter Blake Gailen went 2-for-4.
Sioux City 4, Shreveport-Bossier 3
C Ray Serrano doubled home LF TJ Bohn in the eighth inning to give Sioux City the lead for good in the 4-3 win over the Shreveport-Bossier Captains. Serrano finished the day 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Explorers reliever Nick Schumacher picked up the victory after pitching a scoreless eighth, allowing only a walk. Captains 1B Andres Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in the loss.
