
Sacramento clinched eighth division title in 10 seasons

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats have clinched their eighth Pacific Coast League South Division title in 10 seasons. The River Cats lost 6-3 to the Fresno Grizzlies at Raley Field on Thursday night, but the host Las Vegas 51s defeated the second-place Reno Aces 1-0, clinching Sacramento's third consecutive division title. Fans in attendance for Thursday night's game receive half-priced tickets for the 2009 playoffs. Ticket stubs from the Thursday's game can be redeemed at the Raley Field Ticket Office for half-price playoff tickets to any game(s) during the 2009 postseason, subject to availability. The River Cats are also looking to capture their third consecutive PCL and Triple-A championship. Fresno took the lead with a four-run seventh inning that featured five hits. Matt Carson hit his fourth homer in three games for Sacramento.
