August 28, 2009
RENO, Nev. - The Reno Aces return home Monday, Aug. 31, for the final homestand of the 2009 season, an action-packed eight-game set against the Sacramento River Cats and Fresno Grizzlies.
The Aces open their final homestand Monday with X-Night, where 200 KTHX listeners will receive commemorative T-shirts. In addition, samples of Tahoe Creamery ice cream will be distributed during Monday's game.
Tuesday night's game will feature a Fire Fighter Charity Challenge. Fans that purchase a special ticket will receive a commemorative T-shirt, and have the opportunity to support either the Reno or Sparks Fire Department.
Wednesday is another RGJ Family Four-Pack Night. Fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for only $44.
The final Coors Light Thursday Night of the season is set for Thursday, Sept. 3, with $2 Coors Lights available until the fifth inning. It is a special Street Vibrations version of Coors Light Thursday Night, as Roadshows, Inc. and New West will have several bikes on display in the Coors Light Party Zone. Thursday's game will also feature tequila tasting for singles throughout the game on Baseball Mountain.
On Friday, fans have the chance to come out and see the final Fireworks Friday of the season, presented by KOLO 8. Also Friday will be the Aces Mystery Ball Fundraiser. More than 200 signed baseballs will be available for purchase, with the proceeds benefitting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Players from the Aces and Arizona Diamondbacks have signed these souvenirs, and the mystery is that fans do not find out who signed their ball until after they have purchased it. Mystery ball sales start immediately after gates open at 6:05 p.m., and fans are encouraged to come early to ensure their chance to get a ball.
On Saturday, 2,500 fans will receive a commemorative Aces baseball, presented by KRNV. Also, kids are invited to run the bases after the game, presented by Dr. Welmerink.
Sunday's 5:05 p.m. game will feature another appearance by the Spitball Gang. Also, Jason Leffler's NASCAR showcar will be on display throughout the game in the Coors Light Party Zone. Sunday is also the final opportunity for kids 12 & under to run the bases following the game.
The Aces season comes to a close on Monday, Sept. 7, with a special 1:05 p.m. Fan Appreciation Day at Aces Ballpark. Supercuts Spikers will be on hand outside the gates, spiking fans' hair blue, and 2,500 fans will walk away with a bobblehead of the hugely popular Aces Ballpark singing baseball.
For tickets, stop by the Aces Ballpark Box Office, call (775) 334-7000, or visit the Aces online at RenoAces.com.
