Sounds Homestand Preview - August 31-September 3
August 28, 2009 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return home to historic Greer Stadium this Monday, August 31st to open a crucial final four-game homestand of the season against the first-place rival Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A Cardinals).
Highlighting the week's worth of promotions will be Red Hot Chicago Hot Dog Night, KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets, and Fan Appreciation Night.
Cross-state rival Memphis is currently 2 1/2 games ahead of Nashville in the PCL American Northern Division with 11 games remaining. Nashville and Memphis split both series at AutoZone Park in Memphis this year, but the Sounds swept the Redbirds in a four-game set at Greer earlier in June.
Monday's homestand opener starts at 6:00 p.m. and it will be Red Hot Chicago Dollar Dog Night, where fans are able to purchase hot dogs for $1. Gates open at 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday's 6:00 game against the Redbirds will be KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets, where fans will be able to bring in a KRAFT Singles package wrapper/proof of purchase to the box office for a Buy One Get One Free ticket offer. Gates open at 4:30 p.m.
The series continues on Wednesday afternoon for a 12:00 p.m. matinee game. Gates open at 10:30 am.
The homestand finale takes place at 7:00 pm on Thursday evening against Memphis and gates open at 5:30 pm for Fan Appreciation Night.
This special evening will consist of Sounds players signing autographs at the gates and on the field. Baseballs, mini-bats, and backpacks will be given away, while children will play in the Fun Zone for free all night long, courtesy of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and Tum-E Yummies.
In addition, the 2009 Sounds Team MVP and Sounds Fan Favorite will be recognized in an on-field ceremony prior to the game.
Chuck Valenches, along with two lucky fans, will broadcast the Sounds' regular season home finale from the Miller Lite Zone behind home plate.
Following the homestand, the Sounds will wrap up their 2009 regular season by traveling to face the New Orleans Zephyrs (Triple-A Marlins).
Tickets and group packages are currently on sale. Call (615) 690-HITS ext. 2 or visit the Sounds website at www.nashvillesounds.com to order or for more information.
