
Rush Well Represented In CHL's "Best Of The Best" Poll

(Rapid City, SD) - On Tuesday morning, the Central Hockey League released the results of its annual "Best of the Best" poll, highlighting the top three individuals or organizations in 46 categories. The Rush were represented in fourteen different categories and voted #1 in five areas, including "Best Coach" and "Best Fans".
Rush fans were honored for their commitment to the team by being voted "Best Fans" in just the second season. The fans have packed the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center for 10 sellouts this season as the Rush have average nearly 4,800 per home game.
With that, the RPCC was voted third in the "Toughest Building to Win In" category while the Rushmore was also named second in "Best Ice Surface". Finally, the Rush were also voted #1 in "Best Arena Music".
Head Coach Joe Ferras was voted "Best Coach" by his peers after posting a 40-12-5 record through 57 games this season.
Colt King was voted "Best Power Forward" and "Best Bodychecker" for the second straight year.
Danny Battochio was recognized as second best in both the "Best Goaltender" and "Best Rookie" categories.
Gio Flamminio got the nod for third in "Best Defensive Defenseman".
Osama Kassab and Romeo Vivit were named the third best training/equipment staff.
In the "Best Cheerleaders/Dance Team" category, the Rushettes came in third overall.
The Rush were recognized as the second best overall uniforms and Sugar Ray Quinn was named the second best PA announcer.
For the annual poll, ballots are sent to all 15 clubs where players, coaches and broadcasters vote for the top three in each of the 46 categories.
Tonight, the Rush have a pivotal contest against the Odessa Jackalopes at 6:05pm MST. Tune into the broadcast on 100.3 the FOX.
The next home games for the Rush will be on March 12th and 13th when the Allen Americans visit the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center for the first time. Tickets are still available for both games.
