Colt King's Hat Trick Voted CHL Performance of the Week

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Colorado forward Colt King has been voted the winner of the CHL Performance of the Week for the week of February 22-28. The Rush forward scored a hat trick in his team's 5-2 win over the Eagles on February 28. King has 22 goals on the season for Rapid City who leads the Northern Conference and trails Odessa by just three points for the highest point total in the CHL.

The Thunder Bay, Ontario native received 521 votes accounting for 40% of the vote. King narrowly beat out Missouri goaltender Charlie Effinger who stopped 20 of 20 shots in a relief effort on February 26. Effinger secured 33% of the 1,315 votes cast in the weekly poll.

The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week 21 of the season for the period beginning on March 1 and ending on March 7 are as follows:

-Rio Grande Valley's Aaron Lee scoring a hat trick in a 5-2 win over Bossier-Shreveport on March 6

-Rapid City's Danny Battochio making 34 saves in a 3-0 shutout of Tulsa on March 5

-Arizona Sundogs four-goal third period in a 5-2 win over Amarillo on March 3

-Mississippi's Kyle McNulty making 35 saves in a 2-1 shootout win over Allen on March 6

-Colorado scoring four goals in final 5:27 of 6-3 win versus Odessa on March 3

Fans can vote for the winner until Monday, March 15 with the winner being announced on Tuesday, March 16.
