Mississippi RiverKings News Release

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Mississippi RiverKings goaltender Kyle McNulty is a nominee for the latest Central Hockey League Performance of the Week award. The league office announced today the nominees for the online voting that continues through March 15th.

McNulty stopped 35 shots on net in his first start with the RiverKings last Saturday night in a 2-1 shootout victory against the Americans in Allen. That effort, coupled with a 33-save performance the following afternoon against the Missouri Mavericks in suburban Kansas City, earned the Wakfield, Rhode Island native the league award yesterday for Goaltender of the Week.

It is the 35-save effort against Allen that McNulty was nominated for the Performance of the Week.

Through two games with the RiverKings, McNulty has a 2-0-0 record, a 0.96 goals-against-average and a save percentage of.971.

Kyle was acquired off waivers last week by the RiverKings after his release by Arizona, where he posted a 6-15-1 record with one shutout, a 3.43 goals-against-average, and a save percentage of.883.

Fans can vote for McNulty's performance on the CHL website, www.centralhockeyleague.com. The winner of the Performance of the Week award will be determined by the online voting and will be announced on Tuesday, March 16th.

Mississippi returns to action at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven on Friday, March 12th in a 7:05 PM start against the defending CHL champion Texas Brahmas. A post-game skate for fans follows the contest.
