RiverKings Among Best Of The Best

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Mississippi RiverKings were listed in three categories in a recent poll done between coaches, players, and others called the Best of the Best by the Central Hockey League.

Forward Louis Dumont was the number three choice in the category of Best Penalty Killer.

Defenseman Derek Landmesser was listed as the number three selection in the category of Hardest Shooter.

Defenseman David Simoes was named as the number two choice for Best Fighter (Pound for Pound).

The Best of the Best is a poll done by the league office every year where players and teams are rated in 46 different areas on and off the ice.

Mississippi continues its run toward a playoff spot this weekend with a pair of home games, Friday against the Texas Brahmas at the DeSoto Civic Center at 7:05 PM, and again Saturday against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at the DCC at 7:05 PM.

On Saturday, all-time scoring leader Don Parsons will have his jersey retired. The number 13 jersey will be sent to the rafters of the DeSoto Civic Center in a pre-game ceremony.
