Royals Host Rebels on Country Night

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals will welcome the 2016 MasterCard Memorial Cup hosts, the Red Deer Rebels, on Friday for Country Night presented by The Duke Saloon.

SPECIAL GUEST: The Royals are extremely excited to once again welcome back Canadian sports entertainer Cameron Hughes for Friday night's game. The Ottawa, ON native has ignited crowds at over 1,100 sporting events across North America, including the Royals' 2015 Home Opener. Hughes will be bringing his unique method to pump-up fans and cheer on the Royals. During the contest he will be throwing a 100 limited edition country night t-shirts into the crowd. NATIONAL RECOGNITION: This week the Victoria Royals and netminder Coleman Vollrath were recognized by the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The Royals are off to their best start in franchise history (7-1-0-0) and are ranked fifth in the BMO CHL Top 10 Rankings. This marks the highest ranking that Victoria has received in franchise history. Vollrath was named the CHL Goaltender of the Week. Over four games this past week, the product of Calgary, AB collected a 3-1-0-0 record to go with a 1.00 goals against average, a 0.960 save percentage and a shutout.

FRIDAY - COUNTRY NIGHT PRESENTED BY THE DUKE SALOON

Pre-Game:

6:00 p.m.

- Local country band Boondock will be performing live music before puck drop at Gate 1.

- The first 500 fans will receive a cowboy hat courtesy of Budweiser upon entry.

Ticketing:

- Over 1,400 volunteers and participants from this past weekend's Goodlife Marathon will be in attendance.

- Every Season Ticket Holder in attendance will receive a Royals' baseball hat upon entry at Gate 1.

o One fan will have the chance to win a pair of tickets to see Shania Twain Live at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on October 25th by guessing the missing lyrics of a song.
