Rebels Begin Road Trip with 3-1 Loss in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS, BC - The Rebels started a four-game in five-night road trip with a 3-1 loss at the hands of the Kamloops Blazers.

The Blazers opened the scoring on a goal by Collin Shirley. The Rebels came back with one of their own; Michael Spacek evened the game at one. That gave Spacek at least a point in all eight games they've played so far this season. But power play goals by Dawson Davidson and Nick Chyzowski, gave the Blazers a 3-1 lead 14:28 into the period. The Rebels made a goaltending change, Rylan Toth came out of the game and Trevor Martin went the rest of the way.

There was no scoring in the second and third periods.

The Rebels were 0 for 5 on the power play and killed 3 of 5 shorthanded situations.

Rylan Toth allowed 3 goals on 5 shots; Trevor Martin stopped all 16 shots he faced. Connor Ingram made 31 saves in the Blazers net. It was the first win of the season for the Blazers who are now 1-6-0-0, the Rebels dropped to 5-3-0-0.

The Rebels will continue the road trip Wednesday in Kelowna, the broadcast on 106.7 The Drive begins at 7:50PM.
