
Blazers Win 3-1 over Rebels

The Kamloops Blazers scored two power play goals in the first period and got 31 saves from goaltender Connor Ingram in a 3-1 win over the Red Deer Rebels on Tuesday night.
Collin Shirley put the Blazers on the scoreboard first. He outskated defenseman Haydn Fleury for a loose puck and scored to make it 1-0 for the Blazers.
The Blazers have had trouble holding leads, and the Rebels came back to tie the game 54 seconds later.
Michael Spacek one-timed a puck past goaltender Connor Ingram for the 1-1 tie.
The Blazers got back into the game earning a few power plays in the second half of the first period.
Dawson Davidson snuck in from the point and scored on a rebound to give the Blazers a 2-1 lead.
Nick Chyzowski made it 3-1 as he put home his own rebound and the Blazers took a 3-1 lead into the first intermission.
The Rebels got stronger in the second period and fired 13 shots at Connor Ingram, but he was sharp in goal as the game remained 3-1 heading into the final period.
In the third period, the Rebels had three straight power plays but Ingram was solid and the Blazers blocked some shots to perserve a 3-1 victory over the Rebels.
The Blazers finished 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Rebels were 0-for-5.
Connor Ingram was the game's first star with 31 saves, while Rylan Toth started and stopped two of five shots. Trevor Martin came in to stop all 16 shots he faced in the final 43 minutes.
The Blazers will now hit the road for two games as they are in Seattle on Friday, October 16th and Spokane on Saturday, October 17th.
