
Royals Home Opener to be Televised by Comcast

READING, PA - The Reading Royals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that the Saturday, October 23 home opener versus the Trenton Titans will be televised on Comcast (regionally). Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m. with a pre-game "Bleed Purple Block Party" presented by Quadrant Engineering to begin promptly at 2:00 outside the Sovereign Center on Penn Street. Live entertainment headlines the event: KATSU, Jennifer Marks and UUU will be performing, plus there will be kid's games, food booths, Miller-Keystone Blood Center and Alex's Lemonade Stand. In addition the first 7,000 fans through the turnstiles receive Bleed Purple T-shirts and a live jersey auction for Royals Charities takes place following the game. A special banner presentation will take place at the outset of the game highlighting the Royals 2004 Northern Division Championship.

For the third straight season, Royals fans can follow the team via the Royals website at www.royalshockey.com with live audio streaming of each game. The Royals have partnered with Sportsjuice to provide quality webcasts for all 72 regular season Royals games, plus playoffs (if applicable). The Reading Royals held their 4th Annual Faceoff Luncheon to benefit Royals Charities at the Classic Café last week. All the proceeds from the $10 buffet benefitted Royals Charities. The entire 2004-05 Royals squad, along with coach Derek Clancey, were at the Classic Café signing autographs and meeting fans. The event raised just under $1,000 for Royals Charitities. Royals Charities is committed to providing assistance to charitable organizations throughout Reading and the surrounding area that serve seriously ill, disabled or disadvantaged youth and their families.
