Oklahoma City Comets News Release
Round Rock hit a two-run home run to tie it in the ninth and scored two more in the 11th to beat Oklahoma 8-7 Friday night in front of 9,246 at SBC Bricktown Ballpark.
The RedHawks came back to take a 6-4 lead into the ninth inning. Carlos Rivera then hit a two-run, pinch-hit home run to tie the game for Round Rock off Jose Veras.
The game stayed tied in the 11th when the first two Round Rock batters singled. An intentional walk to Danny Klassen loaded the bases with one out for Mike Coolbaugh. The PCL All-Star then ripped a single to left field to score two runs.
The RedHawks loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the inning when Chris Richard hit a sacrifice fly to bring the RedHawks within one. Esteban German struck out to end the game.
Relief pitcher Michael Tejera struck out the only batter he faced to strand two inherited runners in the seventh. He has now retired all 21 runners he has inherited this season.
Jason Botts and Manny Alexander had three hits for the RedHawks. Jason Conti and Chris Richard, the eight and nine hitters in the order, had two RBIs for Oklahoma.
The RedHawks and Express meet again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at SBC Bricktown Ballpark. Nolan Ryan bobbleheads will be given out to the first 2,500 fans.
