Rottino Plays Every Position, Snappers Play Extras

Vinny Rottino played every position in today's 7-6 extra innings loss to Peoria. Rottino started the game at catcher and ended it on the mound. In the middle he played every position in the outfield and on the infield. Peoria scored two runs in the first to take a 2-0 lead. In the second inning Beloit would tie the game 2-2. In the bottom of the third the Snappers scored twice to take a 4-2 lead. They would remain ahead of Peoria until the Chiefs scored twice in the fifth to tie the game 4-4. Robby Deevers would hit an RBI triple to score Drew Anderson to put the Snappers up 5-4. Peoria took a 6-5 lead after scoring twice in the seventh. Drew Anderson would single in a run to tie the game at 6-6 after eight innings. Rottino would pitch a perfect ninth inning. Beloit failed to score in the bottom of the ninth as the game headed to extra innings. Neither team scored in the tenth. Peoria would break the tie with a run in the top of the 11th. Beloit would be unable to get a run across as Peoria won 7-6.

This will conclude the 2004 season for Beloit.
