The Kelowna Rockets moved to 2-1 on the preseason with a 4-2 loss to the Kamloops Blazers on Friday night at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, BC.

Turner McMillen (2) and Reese Belton (1) exchanged goals in the opening period.

Trevor Wong (1) pushed the Rockets ahead early in the second. Nick McCarry (4) and Fraser Minten (3) scored 1:39 apart to give Kamloops their first lead of the game,

Minten (4) potted an empty-net go to score his second of the night.

Cole Tisdale started in net, stopping 23 of the 26 shots fired on him through two periods of action. Cole Schwebius replaced Tisdale at the start of the third, turning aside all ten shots he faced.

Kelowna's power play went zero-for-three on the night, while Kamloops was two-for-five with the man advantage.

The Blazers outshot the Rockets 37 to 20.

Scott Cousins, Noah Dorey, William Irvine, Mark Liwiski, Nicholas Cristiano and Pavel Novak were the Rockets scratches.

Kelowna will close out the preseason tomorrow against the Blazers at Prospera Place, puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. PT.
