Winnipeg, MB - The Brandon Wheat Kings wrapped up the 2021-2022 WHL pre-season with a 4-3 loss to the Winnipeg ICE on Saturday night.

Carson Bjarnason stood on his head for the Wheat Kings. The 16-year-old net minder made 30 saves in 40 minutes of action. Nick Jones finished the game, playing the final 20 minutes. The Calgary, AB native stopped 13 of 15 shots that came his way.

Skylar Bruce led the way for the ICE, scoring once and adding a pair of assists, while Cole Muir (1G-1A) and Zach Benson (2A) each had multi point nights.

Nolan Ritchie, Nate Danielson and newcomer Ben Thornton scored for the Wheat Kings, who finished the night 1/9 in a penalty filled affair. Winnipeg scored twice on seven man advantages.

Now, these two teams hit the reset button and prepare for an opening weekend home and home battle, beginning Friday night at Westoba Place. (7:00 puck drop)
