The Kelowna Rockets announced today that they have acquired import forward Jonas Peterek (01) from the Calgary Hitmen. In exchange for Peterek, the Hitmen receive the Rockets fifth-round pick at the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft.

Peterek has appeared in 32 games for the Hitmen this season, posting 16 points (eight goals, eight assists), 4 penalty minutes.

He has represented the Czech Republic at the 2017 World U17 Hockey Challenge, the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the 2019 U18 World Championship. The 6-foot-2, 176 lb winger was most recently invited to their World Junior camp last month.

The Havirov, Czech Republic product was selected 37th overall during the first round of the 2019 CHL Import Draft.

He's expected to join the Rockets this weekend.
