TRADE: Pats Acquire Cole Carrier from Kelowna

Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats Hockey Club has announced they have acquired 17-year-old forward Cole Carrier from the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for a sixth round pick and a conditional eighth round pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.

Carrier (5'11, 174), was drafted in the fourth round, 71st overall, in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft by the Rockets. The product of Strathcona, Alberta has put up six goals and 13 points in 30 games this season with the Whitecourt Wolverines of the AJHL. He appeared in eight games with Kelowna in 2018-19, recording one assist.

"We are happy to add Cole to our team," said Pats VP of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Paddock. "He is a good young player that adds to the depth of our 2002 born group."

Carrier represented Team Alberta at the WHL Cup in 2017, winning a silver medal. He was also a member of the Northern Alberta Elite 15's which won a CSSHL championship in 2018.

The sixth round pick in the deal is Regina's, the seventh originally belonged to the Calgary Hitmen.

The Pats will return to action on Saturday night when they kick off their U.S. Division road swing against the Tri-City Americans. Next home game is January 24 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
