The Story Coming In
The Medicine Hat Tigers travelled to Manitoba this week for a two game road trip. They kicked off the road trip by falling 4-3 at the last second to the Brandon Wheat Kings Tuesday night. Wednesday they bounced back by defeating the Winnipeg ICE 4-1 and Lukas Svejkovsky had his second two goal night with the Tigers during the contest. Rookie goaltender Garin Bjorklund stopped 34 of 35 shots faced in the win. The Tabbies are 26-12-1-1 and they are led by their Captain James Hamblin with 61 points (23G, 38A).
Tigers vs. Warriors
This weekend the Tigers will take on the Warriors in a home and home series that will start tonight in Medicine Hat and game two will happen Saturday in Moose Jaw. This weekend's series will be the final time this season that these two hockey clubs will meet. The Tigers have won both previous contests, 3-1 Nov 22, 2019, and 6-0 Nov 29, 2019. Captain James Hamblin is leading the way for the Tabbies with 5 points (3G, 2A) in two games played against Moose Jaw. Medicine Hat is 6-6-1-1 against Moose Jaw over the past five years and 3-3-0-1 when playing at home.

The Moose Jaw Warriors fell 7-4 to the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday night in Moose Jaw and they will look to rebound tonight in Medicine Hat. Newly acquired goaltender Boston Bilous stopped 47 of 53 shots faced in his Warriors debut. The Warriors are 11-23-2-0 and they are led by Ryder Korczak with 42 points (11G, 31A). Starting with tomorrow's game against Medicine Hat, the Warriors will have a four game homestand where they will also host Prince George, Brandon and Lethbridge.
Tigers Talent
Jonathan Brinkman was drafted by the Tigers 34th overall in the 2019 CHL Import Draft and he hails from Aalborg, Denmark, along with goaltender Mads Søgaard. The 2001 born forward has scored six goals in his last 10 games played for the Tigers bringing his season totals to nine goals and eight assists for 17 points in 33 games played. Brinkman is a smart, quick player who is always looking to create things with an extra move in the offensive zone. Look for Brinkman to create offensive opportunities in tonight's game.
Captain's Corner
Captain James Hamblin is tied for first in the league in scoring with 61 points, he is tied in fourth in the league for goals with 23 and he is second in the league for assists with 38. The 20-year-old Edmonton product was drafted in the first round of the 2014 Bantam Draft by the Tigers and in his career he has played 301 games, scored 102 goals and collected 151 assists. Hamblin is one of the Tigers' most consistent players and he leads his team by example. He has 18 points (6G, 12A) in his last 11 games played.
