Green Bay Rockers News Release
Ashwaubenon, Wis. - The Rockers return to Capital Credit Union Park after a two-game series with the Madison Mallards. Green Bay will host the Kenosha Kingfish in Saturday night's game, which will be the first of three in a ow at home. First pitch for Saturday is set for 6:05 p.m.
On Friday night, the Rockers fell to the Mallards 12-2. Green Bay was held hitless through the first five innings and the combined no-hitter wouldn't be broken until center fielder Kendal Ewell (Kentucky) hit a solo home run to right-center field. Kyle West (West Virginia) would provide the only other RBI with a solo home run of his own.
Earning the loss on the hill for the Rockers was Christian Foutch (Arkansas). He gave up five earned runs and seven hits while striking out seven batters in 4.1 innings.
Despite the loss, Green Bay remains tied for first place with the Wausau Woodchucks in the Great Lakes West division. Both teams are 15-11 and remain half a game up on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.
On the hill for the Rockers in Saturday night's matchup will be Kyle Stoddard (Missouri Southern State). The second-year Rocker made his first start of the season in Battle Creek on June 18, where he struck out seven batters and allowed four earned runs. He is currently third on the team in strikeouts with 24 across his seven appearances.
Pitching for the Kingfish will be Jake Stipp (Eckard). The left-hander currently has a 5.94 ERA through 16.2 innings on the mound.
Saturday's game will be 90s Night at the ballpark. Kids will also be able to run the bases following the game's conclusion.
After Saturday night's contest, the Rockers will host the Kenosha Kingfish on Sunday for the final meeting between the two teams this season. First pitch will be at 1:05 p.m.
