St. Cloud Rox News Release
Rochester, MN - Bryce Robison (BYU) tied the Rox' single-game record for strikeouts with 13 and propelled St. Cloud (10-6) to a 3-0 win over Rochester (5-9).
Robison went seven and two-thirds innings and allowed no runs on just six hits and only walking one. In two innings, Robison struck out the side in order and he was able to summon back-to-back strikeouts in the eighth with a runner in scoring position.
Connor Barison (Washington State) came out of the bullpen and recorded the final four outs of the game and added three punchouts of his own to seal the victory for St. Cloud. Friday night marked the third shutout of the season for the Rox.
Offensively, the Rox scored once in the fourth as Jack Winkler (San Francisco) drove in Jordan Barth (Augustana) on an RBI double down the left-field line. Winkler had three doubles during the two-game series with Rochester.
Barth had his best night of the season, going three-for-four including a double of his own in the fourth inning. The Rox' third-year returner has elevated his batting average to .224 on the summer.
Connor O'Brien (Seattle) also had a big day in his debut performance with St. Cloud. O'Brien beat out an infield single to lead off the eighth inning and singled again in the ninth, recording a multi-hit game in his first outing with the Rox.
St. Cloud added an insurance run in the eighth and ninth to add some cushion and finish off the game with its tenth win of the season.
