Robertson Extends Hitting Streak to 10 Games, Hot Rods Win 1-0

Bowling Green, Kentucky - Blake Robertson extended his hitting streak to 10 games in the Bowling Green Hot Rods (22-14, 53-44) 1-0 win over the Wilmington Blue Rocks (13-34, 42-58), notching their ninth shutout victory of the year on Tuesday at Bowling Green Ballpark.

Bowling Green scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the third against Wilmington starter Brad Lord. Robertson walked and Jalen Battles got hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second. After Robertson moved up to third on a fielder's choice, Chandler Simpson stole second, allowing Robertson to move up and score to make it 1-0.

Hot Rods reliever Austin Vernon closed it out in the ninth, carrying Bowling Green to a 1-0 victory.

Duncan Davitt (3-1) logged the win, letting up three hits and striking out five over 5.0 scoreless frames. Lord (1-3) took the loss, allowing a run on a hit, two walks, and six strikeouts over 6.0 innings. Vernon (2) collected the save, striking out four over 2.0 no-hit frames.

The Hot Rods and the Blue Rocks play game two of a six-game series on Wednesday with first pitch set for 6:35 PM CT. Bowling Green starts RHP Sean Harney (1-0, 4.26), while Wilmington rolls out Kyle Luckham (3-4, 4.48).
