North Charleston, SC: The Road Warriors dropped the series finale in shootouts against the South Carolina Stingrays by a score of 3-2.
South Carolina began the scoring halfway through the first period with a goal from forward Patrick Gaul. Alex MacLeod gave a pass to Derek Foam who fired a shot that was deflected by Gaul for his fifth of the year. The Road Warriors outshot the Stingrays 14-5 in the frame.
The Stingrays grabbed a 2-0 lead just 53 seconds into the second period. Chris Langkow scored his 17th goal of the year receiving passes from Tyler Johnson and Scooter Vaughan. Jordie Johnston responded with his 17th of the year just 15 seconds later. Marc-Olivier Vallerand tied the game at two with a power play goal. Vallerand's 20th of the year was scored on a wrist shot from the top of the circle over Ryan Zapolski's glove.
Neither team was able to score in the third period which moved the game to overtime. Greenville once again outshot the Stingrays 8-3 in the third period. Both teams had one shot on net in overtime, neither of which found the goal. Vallerand was the lone scorer for the Road Warriors in shootouts as Zapolski saved four of five shots.
