Colorado Eagles News Release

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies scored a power-play goal in overtime to defeat the Colorado Eagles, 3-2. The game was the third between the rivals in less than three days and wrapped up a seven-game road trip for the Eagles, in which they earned seven points (3-3-1).

Following games Friday and Saturday night in which the Eagles out-shot the Grizzlies in the opening period, only to be trailing at the first intermission, Colorado flipped the script Sunday afternoon. Utah out-shot Colorado, 13-7, but the Eagles were the only team to find the back of the net when Kevin Ulanski capped off some tic-tac-toe passing with a shot from the left circle at 15:15. The goal represented his 400th point (135-265-400) in 299 career games with Colorado.

Utah struck back in the second stanza when Colin Vock tied the game 6:20 in. On the play, Jimmy Martin blew past Michael Forney along the right wing in the neutral zone and put the puck on net from the right circle. Adam Estoclet picked up the rebound and sent it into the paint where Vock was stationed to steer it home.

Colorado re-took the lead eight minutes into the third period when Trent Daavettila beat Adam Morrison from the right faceoff dot. But the Grizzlies knotted the game up again at 15:35 when Estoclet fed Jordan Clendenning across the crease for a tap-in from the right post past Kyle Jones.

The Eagles then got into penalty trouble. With 3:18 left in regulation, Steve Haddon was called for a four minute high-sticking penalty. Colorado was able to kill the time off and force overtime, gaining a valuable point in the process.

Then after killing the final 42 seconds to start the extra session, Colorado was called for another penalty that allowed Estoclet to pick up his third point of the night with a game-winning one-timer from the left circle.
