Edmonton Recalls Defenseman Brandon Davidson

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced Edmonton has recalled rookie defenseman Brandon Davidson from the Thunder to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.

Davidson, 21, has 12 points (7g-5a) and a +7 rating in 11 ECHL games from the blueline. He scored two goals in his ECHL debut on Feb. 15 and has also collected two assists in eight games with Oklahoma City this season.

The Taber, Alberta native earned 133 points in 200 career games from the blueline with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League. He had a career high 13 goals in 69 games last season and added 49 points (3rd in team scoring), earning a selection on the WHL Second All-Star Team (Eastern Conference).

Davidson was selected by Edmonton in the sixth round (162nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12.
