Tonight's Matchup: The Brandon Wheat Kings wrap up a four-game road trip tonight in Medicine Hat. It's the first meeting with the Tigers in Medicine Hat since February 1st, 2020. That night, Luka Burzan finished with a goal and an assist in a 4-3 win.

Last Time Out: 4-2 W @ Lethbridge: The Wheat Kings snapped a three-game losing skid with a 4-2 win over the Hurricanes last night. Nate Danielson, Nolan Ritchie, Zakhar Polshakov and Ty Zimmer scored for the BWK, while Ethan Kruger stopped 34 shots for his 7th victory of the season.

NEWS & NOTES:

Mr. 150: Washington Capitals draft pick Vinny Iorio skated in his 150th career WHL game last night. The Coquitlam, BC native has scored 12 times and added 37 assists for 49 points in his career. In 19 games this season, Iorio has two goals and 11 points.

Short Handed Skill: Nate Danielson's third period short-handed marker last night was the 7th of the season for the Wheat Kings, which moves them into a tie with Calgary for the league lead. Last year the BWK finished the Hub season with 7 shorthanded goals in 24 games, which was the best mark in the WHL.

Brick Layer: Ethan Kruger was the best player on the ice for the Wheat Kings on Friday night, making 34 saves in a first-star effort. Kruger has faced 30+ shots in eight of his fifteen starts this season, but has only given up more than two goals twice in his last ten starts.

No Rest: The Wheat Kings wrap up this stretch of four-games in five nights tonight, only to hit the reset button and do it all again next week. Brandon and Medicine Hat will meet again on Tuesday at Westoba Place, kick-starting a busy four game week for the BWK. It's the end of an eight game stretch in just twelve days.
