December 4, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release
Spokane, Wash. -- Penalty trouble proved to be the downfall of the Spokane Chiefs on Friday night as they were defeated by the Prince George Cougars, 4-2.
Forward Carter Streek got the Chiefs on the board early, sneaking his third goal of the year inside the right post to make it 1-0 Spokane just 5:40 into regulation.
The Cougars responded with their first of two power play goals in the contest as Jonny Hooker found a lane through traffic to tie it up midway through the period.
Spokane regained the lead at 15:35 when Jack Finley snuck into the right circle and one-timed a perfect feed from linemate Bear Hughes for his eighth goal.
Prince George stormed back in the second period, scoring another with the man advantage at 8:38 (Hudson Thornton) -- this time 5-on-3 -- before taking the lead at 13:15 (Connor Bowie).
The Cougars padded their lead midway through the third when Carter MacAdams scored his fifth of the season.
Spokane outshot the Cougars 30-22 on the night, going 0-for-3 on the power play and 4-for-6 on the penalty kill overall. They remain home Saturday to host the Seattle Thunderbirds for the annual Teddy Bear Toss game at Spokane Arena.
