Zach Benson scored two goals in the third period as the Winnipeg ICE opened a seven game Central Division road trip with a 3-1 victory over the Calgary Hitmen at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex.

Conor Geekie also scored as the ICE poured a season high 55 shots on Hitmen goaltender Ethan Buenaventura. Mikey Milne and Carson Lambos each led the way with nine shots on goal.

Riley Fiddler-Schultz had the lone goal for Calgary, who have lost six consecutive games.

Daniel Hauser made 28 saves as Winnipeg's record improves to 32-6-2-1.

Both teams were 0/5 on the power play.

The ICE return to action Saturday night in Red Deer with an 8:00 Central time face off (7:30 pregame on CFRW 1290).
