
Rivermen Set for Weekend of Giving on Thanksgiving

Peoria, Ill. (November 25, 2003) - General Manager Bart Rogers of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that several charitable promotions will take place on Thanksgiving (Thursday) and Friday, as part of a Rivermen Weekend of Giving.
On Thanksgiving - Thursday, November 27 - the Rivermen will face off against the archrival Dayton Bombers at 7:05 p.m. at Carver Arena. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the game to receive a "Buy One, Get One Free Upper Bowl Ticket" offer for that night; all items will be donated to the Peoria Friendship House. Fans are also encouraged to bring a new or used coat to donate for the Salvation Army's "Coat for Kids" campaign.
The first 4,000 fans will receive a NEXTEL Rivermen Rally Towel.
Media sponsors include: WMBD-TV (CBS), WEEK-TV (NBC) and River Country 97.3 FM.
Last year, the Rivermen collected more than 2,000 non-perishable food items and well over 1,000 coats on Thanksgiving with a crowd of more than 6,000 fans.
On Friday, November 28, the Rivermen will host the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:05 p.m. at Carver Arena. Cutting Edge Salon of Morton will sponsor the inaugural "Haircuts for Charity" to benefit Children's Hospital of Illinois. Fans may receive free haircuts all game long with tips and donations to benefit Children's Hospital of Illinois.

The Peoria Rivermen are a member of the ECHL - America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Rivermen will host the 2004 ECHL All-Star Game & Skills Competition on January 20-21. Tickets are available by calling 309-676-1040.
