
Saal is the ITECH HOCKEY ECHL Saver of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Augusta goaltender Jason Saal is the ITECH HOCKEY ECHL Saver of the Week for November 17-23.
The 5-10 and 185-pound Saal was 2-0-0 with a shutout, a 1.00 goals against average and a .973 save percentage as the Lynx went 2-0-0 and extended their winning streak to four games.
Saal made 31 saves and picked up his second shutout in three games in a 3-0 win at Texas on Friday, and made 40 saves in a 3-2 win at Louisiana on Saturday.
In his last four games, Saal is 4-0-0 with two shutouts, a 0.75 goals against average and a .977 save percentage. During the streak he has lowered his goals against average from 3.16 to 2.20, tied for 10th in the ECHL, and raised his save percentage from .903 to .933. sixth in the ECHL. Saal, who was runner up for Saver of the Week on November 17, is tied for the league lead with two shutouts and two shorthand assists.
Selected in the fifth round (117th overall) by Los Angeles in the 1993 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Saal has moved into sixth place in the ECHL with 140 career wins in 277 games. Saal, who began his ECHL career in 1995-96 with South Carolina, has won 20 games in each of the last three seasons going 27-11-0 with Louisiana in 2000-01, 25-15-10 with Arkansas in 2001-02 and 20-10-7 with Arkansas in 2002-03.
