Washington, PA - The Riverhounds FC handily beat the Northern Virginia Royals 7-0 Tuesday night at Falconi Field in front of 1,784 fans. With the win the Riverhounds improve their record to 6-10-3.

The scoring was early and often for the Hounds on Tuesday night. David Flavius started off the scoring in the 10th minute when Devlin Barnes played a ball down the right sideline and Flavius capitalized on the good service. Flavius scored his second goal of the night seven minutes later when Greg Victor played a through ball that split the Royals' defense and allowed Flavius to easily put the ball away. Flavius almost had the hat trick in the 24th minute as he had a free look at the goal, but his shot hit off the post. The Hounds scored again in the 36th minute when Pottinger crossed the ball to a wide open Bastidas who brought the ball down and ripped a low shot that got past Royals' GK Hall. The Hounds had a 3-0 lead by halftime.

It didn't take the Riverhounds long to advance their lead in the second half. The score was furthered to 4-0 when the Royals had an own goal in the 57th minute. Three minutes later the Hounds struck again when Mupier slid the ball across the box and a wide open Reggie Koranteng benefited from his teammate's dummy and drilled the ball into the net. Goalkeepers Robinson and Heasley split time in the net for the Hounds on Tuesday night. Neither keeper was tested very much, but Heasley made a point blank save for the Hounds in the 63rd minute to preserve the shut-out. With the score comfortably at 5-0, the Riverhounds were not satisfied yet. Devlin Barnes added another goal in the 72nd minute off of a Koranteng pass. Possibly the most skillful goal of the night came off of a play from Damien Pottinger. Pottinger slowed his run down on the outside of the box to wait for support and played a chipped ball across the face of the net to an oncoming Evoud Thompson who finished with his head, making the score 7-0.

The HOUNDS will play host to Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew Wednesday night at Falconi Field. The first 500 fans will receive a Columbus Crew cinch bag to commemorate the night. Tickets are available at the front box office.
