Windy City ThunderBolts News Release
Crestwood, IL - Tom Cochran tossed his 2nd complete game of the season and the ThunderBolts mustered just 3 hits in the ball game as the Ohio Valley Redcoats snatched their 2nd straight from Windy City. Ohio Valley grabbed the series by a final of 4-1.
For the 3rd straight contest, Windy City led in the first 2 innings. Nick Klusaw blasted a Cochran 1-1 pitch over the left field wall to snare the advantage 1-zip. Matt Barket piggybacked that shot with a single. After that, the Bolts had just one base knock, a Justin Schuda single in the 6th.
Ohio Valley grabbed the lead 2-1 on an RBI double scorched by former Mets draft pick Travis Garcia. Patrick Sadler sent Garcia plateward with a sacrifice fly to left. Nick Batkoski led the 6th off with his 12th homer of the campaign. It came off of Bobby Mack who made his first Windy City start. The final run crossed in the 9th on a Miles Page roller to first. That was surrendered by Bolts righty Mike Renery.
Cochran's complete game was the 4th fired by Redcoats pitchers in the 6 contests against Windy City in 2005. The Redcoats took 5 of the 6. The Bolts scored 3 times or fewer in 5 of the games. Ohio Valley starters traversed through 50 of the 53 innings of play between the teams.
Tomorrow's game is a 7:05 start from Hawkinson Ford Field. Windy City shows lefty Rick Weber on the bump. He beat the Evansville Otters 5 days ago to start the Bolts' 3-game win streak. You can find every pitch on WJOB AM 1230 or at www.wjobcalpress.com. The pregame show gets going at 6:45.
