Sacramento River Cats News Release
The Sacramento River Cats (64-40) beat the Portland Beavers (50-54) 7-0 on Tuesday at Raley Field in West Sacramento, Calif. One day after being shutout by Portland, Sacramento blanked the Beavers on four hits. RHP Frank Castillo (5-4) earned the win, allowing just 4 H in 7.0 IP. RHP Joe Valentine finished the game, throwing two scoreless innings. LHP Mike Bynum (4-8) took the loss for Portland, allowing 5 ER on 4 H in 4.2 IP.
The River Cats scored five of their seven runs in the fifth inning on singles by C Mike Rose (2 RBI) and CF Chris Prieto (1 RBI) and a double by 2B Esteban German (2 RBI). German led the Cats' offense, going 2-for-5 with 3 RBI. With the win, Sacramento is 4-2 on their current homestand and 31-17 in 48 games at Raley Field.
