
Porter, Zinter Bat Zephyrs to 7-1 Victory

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico -- Colin Porter and Alan Zinter combined to drive in all seven runs for the New Orleans Zephyrs in a 7-1 victory over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Tuesday Night in Albuquerque.
Porter launched a three-run homer in the fourth inning and added a run-scoring single in the sixth. Zinter finished with three hits and a pair of runs scored, including his team-leading 13th homer in the sixth to open up a four-run outburst. D.J. Houlton (1-0) allowed a run and scattered five hits, issuing three walks and fanning three, in seven innings to pick up the win for New Orleans, his first AAA win of his career. Jason Alfaro and Henri Stanley each had two hits as the Z's had 13 hits off three Isotopes pitchers.
Jason Wood posted the seventh multi-hit game in his last 12 contests, finishing 4-for-4 with an RBI for the Isotopes. Aaron Small (4-2) surrendered seven runs and 11 hits in six innings to suffer the loss for Albuquerque, which lost back-to-back home games after winning its previous four.
The series with the Isotopes continues on Wednesday at 8:11 PM. Jared Fernandez (6-9, 3.89) is scheduled to start for the Zephyrs and Sean Bergman (4-9, 4.85) for the Isotopes. The game can be heard on WTIX-AM 690 and at www.zephyrsbaseball.com with Tim Grubbs and calling the action.
