
Sessions Named Topps Minor League Triple A Pitcher of the Month for June

Metairie, LA â The New Orleans Zephyrs, the Class AAA Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Houston Astros are pleased to announce that Zephyrs right-hander Doug Sessions has been named Topps Minor League Triple A pitcher of the month for June. The Topps Co., in conjunction with Minor League Baseball names the winner.
Sessions, 26 and a resident of Orange Park, Florida, who last week represented the Zephyrs in the Triple A All-Star game posted a 4-0 mark in five June starts, allowing just 20 hits and 1 earned run in 34 1/3 innings for a 0.26 ERA. He fanned 25 and walked only 7.
The Zephyrs continue a four game series with the Albuquerque Isotopes on Wednesday at 8:11 PM. Jared Fernandez (6-9, 3.89) is scheduled to start for the Zephyrs and Sean Bergman (4-9, 4.85) for the Isotopes.
