Rio Grande Valley Vipers Add Jordan Johnson to Roster

EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, NBA G League Affiliate of the Houston Rockets, announced today the addition of point guard Jordan Johnson to the roster.

Johnson (5-11, 175) played for UNLV Rebels in 2017-18 where he averaged 13.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 6 assists and 1.2 steals in 34.3 minutes of play. In addition, he averaged 1.5 3-pointers made on 38.9% shooting.

Prior to the Rebels, Johnson played for the University of Milwaukee Panthers in the 2015-16 season. Johnson earned second-team All-Horizon League honors. He averaged 13 points, 8 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 34.4 minutes per game. Johnson broke the schools record for assists in a season and per game where he finished second in the NCAA in total assists (267) and by average.

Johnson also played at John Wood Community College for two seasons. In 2014-15, Johnson earned NJCAA First Team All-America after leading the team to the NJCAA Division II national championship. Johnson also earned Region 24 Player of the Year and Mid-West Athletic Conference Player of the Year after averaging 15.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Johnson's freshman year, he averaged 13.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
