New Orleans Pelicans Transfer Trevon Bluiett to Stars

SALT LAKE CITY - The New Orleans Pelicans have transferred rookie guard Trevon Bluiett to the Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, it was announced today.

Bluiett (6-6, 198, Xavier), who is on a two-way contract with the Pelicans, has appeared in 17 games with the Westchester Knicks this season, averaging 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 22.4 minutes. The guard/forward appeared in three preseason games for New Orleans, averaging 2.7 points. As a senior at Xavier (OH) in 2017-18, Bluiett averaged 19.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 35 games (34 starts).

The Stars will begin a four-game homestand, the club's longest of the season, on Friday, Jan. 4, hosting the Sioux Falls Skyforce (Miami HEAT affiliate) for "Pirate Night presented by Qualtrics." The game tips off at 7 p.m. (MT) at Bruin Arena and will be broadcast on Facebook Live, which can be accessed via the Salt Lake City Stars Facebook page. The first 300 kids in attendance will receive a Salt Lake City Stars foam sword giveaway.
