
Rio Grande Valley Vipers Acquire Daniel Hamilton

EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, NBA G League Affiliate of the Houston Rockets, announced the acquisition of guard Daniel Hamilton off waivers and waived guard Jordan Adams.
Hamilton (6-7, 195) was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the 2nd round (56th overall pick) of the 2016 NBA Draft. He was later traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Hamilton then signed a two-way contract with OKC. He appeared in six games for the Thunder averaging 2.0 points, 1.3 assists in 4.7 minutes of action. Hamilton also shot 40.0% beyond the arc and 45.5% from the field.
In the 2018-19 season, Hamilton signed with the Atlanta Hawks as a free agent. He appeared in 19 games, started in three, averaged 3.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 10.7 minutes of play. Hamilton shot 34.8% beyond the arc. While being with the Hawks, Hamilton was assigned to the Erie Bayhawks where he started in four games, averaging 18.3 points in 34.2 minutes. He added, 11 rebounds, 7.3 assists while shooting 47% from the field.
Hamilton is a University of Connecticut alumna where he played for two seasons, 2014-16. His best season was in 2015-16 where he averaged 12.5 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 31.9 minutes.
Adams (6-5, 209) appeared in two games for the Vipers averaging 1.5 points, 1 assist and 1 steal.
