TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and the Reading Phillies will complete last night's suspended series-opener and will meet in game two of a three-game series...The Flying Squirrels and Phillies series opener on Monday night at The Diamond was suspended due to a light malfunction in the top of the seventh inning with Reading ahead 9-2.

TONIGHT'S STARTERS: Left-hander Clayton Tanner gets the start in game two of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Earned the win in his last outing at Bowie 7/22...Allowed one run on five hits in seven innings...Struck out four batters and walked one...Three of his five hits allowed were infield singles...Recorded nine ground outs and eight fly outs...Threw 94 pitches, 59 strikes...Threw three pitches or fewer to 16 of the 27 batters he faced...Threw a first pitch strike to just one of the first 13 batters he faced...Threw first-pitch strikes to 10 of the final 14 batters he faced...Retired the leadoff batter in all seven of his innings on the mound...Has retired the leadoff batter in 14 of his last 15 innings...Went at least seven innings for the fifth time in 19 starts...Has allowed 26 runs, 22 earned, on 58 hits over 71 1/3 innings in his last 11 starts since coming off of the DL 5/30 (2.78 ERA)...Left-handed batters are hitting .218 against him (17-for-78)...Opponents hitting .238 against him overall on the season...Ranks eighth in the Eastern League with a 3.17 ERA.

Right-hander Mike Cisco gets the nod in game two of the series for the Phillies...Received a no-decision in his last start which came with Triple-A Lehigh Valley at Indianapolis 7/21...Allowed five runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings...Struck out five batters and walked one...Has lost each of his last two starts with the R-Phils, having allowed a total of 11 runs on 17 hits in nine innings (11.00 ERA)...Placed on the DL 5/3 with a right forearm strain...Activated 6/18 and sent down to Advanced-A Clearwater...Allowed two runs on nine hits in nine innings of work with the Threshers...Promoted to Reading 6/29...Began 2009 with Advanced-A Clearwater and went 7-3 with a 3.31 ERA in 15 games/14 games started...Made seven starts with Double-A Reading and went 2-4 with a 4.58 ERA...Made pro debut in 2008 and posted a 1-0 mark with a 1.86 ERA in nine games, one start, with SS-A Williamsport before being promoted to Low-A Lakewood...Went 2-1 with a 0.51 ERA in eight games including six starts with Lakewood...Struck out 30 batters and walked none in 35 innings of work...Selected in the 36th round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of South Carolina...Grandson of former Philadelphia Phillies pitching coach Galen Cisco.

SUSPENSION: The Flying Squirrels contest with the Phillies was suspended last night with Richmond trailing 9-2 in the top of the seventh inning...The game will be complete in its entirety (nine innings) on tonight beginning at 6:15 PM...The scheduled contest for today will be a nine-inning game and will take place following the conclusion of the suspended game...It was the third suspended game of the season for the Flying Squirrels...Richmond's contest at Altoona 7/12 was suspended with the Flying Squirrels leading 6-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning...The game will be completed in its entirety (nine innings) on Thursday, August 26th, beginning at 5:30 PM...The other suspended game occurred on Opening Day, 4/8, as Richmond ended up losing to Bowie 6-4...The club won the seven-inning scheduled game 2-0.

THE WEATHER MAN: Third baseman Conor Gillaspie has hits in 10 of his last 11 games including a season-long seven-game hit streak (7/11-7/22)...In 21 games this month, he is hitting .377 (26-for-69); however, only five of his 26 hits in July have gone for extra bases (three doubles and two triples)...He has walked nine times and has struck out eight times so far this month...Gillaspie is hitting .309 (54-for-175) in 46 games on the road while batting just .249 (43-for-173) in 49 games at home.

UNBUCKLING THE BELT: In 97 games combined between Advanced-A San Jose and Double-A Richmond, first baseman Brandon Belt leads all of minor league baseball in batting average (.382) and on-base percentage (.480) and is third in slugging percentage (.647) and is fifth in hits (132)...The 22-year-old has reached base safely in each of his last 19 games.

WALK AWAY: Outfielder Darren Ford has walked six times in his last four games including drawing a season-high three walks on Friday night...He had walked only six times in his first 17 games this month...Overall on the season, Ford is averaging 0.38 walks per game...The 24-year-old had hits in each of his previous four contests and was 7-for-14 over that stretch with two triples, three RBI, and four runs scored...Richmond is 7-0 when Ford scores multiple runs in a game.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 127 double plays in 101 games including six on 5/7 in Harrisburg...The Flying Squirrels have not gone more than three games without a double play this season...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: Right-hander David Mixon gave up eight runs, seven earned, on 12 hits in 4 2/3 innings in last night's suspended game...He allowed career-highs in runs and hits allowed...The 12 hits is a season-high for a Flying Squirrels' pitcher and the eight runs and seven earned runs matched a season-high...It was the third time in 21 starts that Mixon failed to make it out of the fifth inning.
