Mahoney Named Player of the Week

BOWIE, Md. - Bowie Baysox first baseman Joe Mahoney has been named Eastern League Player of the Week for the week ending July 25. Mahoney is the second Baysox player to win the award this year, second baseman Paco Figueroa won the award for the week ending April 25.

Mahoney hit .556 (15-27) for the week, with two doubles, five home runs and nine RBIs. In 16 games with the Baysox this year, Mahoney is batting .426 (26-61) with four doubles, six home runs and 15 RBIs. He has recorded hits in 12 games, including eight multi-hit games.
