Reading Fightin Phils News Release
The Reading Phillies upcoming six-game homestand, which is already filled with great promotions, has just added another, as the R-Phils will giveaway a Domonic Brown R-Phils Navy Blue Replica Jersey to the first 2,000 kids on Sunday, August 8, thanks to Redner's Warehouse Markets. First pitch of Sunday's game is set for 6:05 p.m. in the finale of a three-game set with the Erie SeaWolves.
Domonic Brown, the number-one prospect in the Philadelphia Phillies system, and number-one overall prospect in baseball, as rated by Baseball America, enjoyed an impressive first half of 2010 with Reading. The 22-year-old phenom batted .318 with 15 home runs and 47 RBIs through 65 games for the R-Phils. A fan-favorite in Baseballtown since being promoted here in 2009 from Clearwater (A), the Florida-born Brown will also be remembered as one of the most talented players to come through Reading.
Originally selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 20th round of the 2006 draft, Brown is now a member of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (AAA), and is hitting a remarkable .340 with five home runs and 19 RBIs over 27 games.
Sunday's game also marks the sixth free ticket game for all Redner's R-Phils Kids Club members, thanks to Redner's Warehouse Markets, Reading Eagle, and 69 News Berks Edition. Kids Club members and their families can enter FirstEnergy Stadium at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, and enjoy an exclusive Kids Club pre-game question and answer session with Reading Phillies players from 4:00 - 4:45 p.m.
Great food and fun continue at America's Classic Ballpark, as Sundays are also Dollar Dog days. All fans can chow down on delicious $1.00 hot dogs, thanks to Stroehmann's and Berks Packing. Also on Sunday, the Reading Phillies will pay tribute to Grandparents and Grandchildren with a special on-field ceremony and grand prize vacation giveaway to Wildwood, thanks to White Star Travel and 830 AM WEEU. The on-field ceremony begins at 5:00pm. Fans will want to stick around after the game, as every Sunday home game also gives all fans the chance to take part in a Post-Game Run the Bases, thanks to 69 News Berks Edition.
Single-game tickets for the 2010 season, presented by Pepsi, are on-sale now and can be purchased in person at FirstEnergy Stadium, by calling (610) 375-8469 or by visiting www.readingphillies.com.
