Round Rock Express News Release
DES MOINES, Iowa - The Texas Rangers have recalled RHP Josh Lindblom from Triple-A Round Rock, the club announced today.
Lindblom is 6-0 with a 2.04 ERA in 10 games (nine starts) for the Express this season. His ERA currently leads all of Triple-A baseball (57.1ip/13er). He is tied for the team lead in wins (6) and has yet to earn a loss this season. He has held opponents to the lowest batting average in the Pacific Coast League at .184 and has allowed the second fewest baserunners among starters in the league (8.94/9.0ip). He was scheduled to start in game two of yesterday's day-night double header, but was scratched at the last minute.
The 25-year-old made one start for the Rangers this season, going 4.2 innings and giving up four runs on seven hits, earning a loss in his first major league start.
Lindblom compiled a 4-5 record with a 3.31 ERA in 101 relief appearances with the Dodgers and Phillies over the 2011-2012 seasons before being acquired by Texas in the Michael Young trade on December 9, 2012.
With this move, the Express' roster sits at 24 active, one under the Pacific Coast League limit.
The Express closes out a five-game road trip in Iowa tonight before returning home for four games against the Albuquerque Isotopes (Triple-A Los Angeles Dodgers) June 10-13.
