TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The eighth and final meeting of the season and the fourth in Richmond. ‘Gades are 3-4 vs. the Royals, 2-1 here. Brad Church has 12 points vs. the Royals. Ex-‘Gade Brian McCullough has 15 vs. Richmond.

‘Gades are out-shooting Reading by an average of nine per game in the season series. Richmond is seventh in the Northeast Division, now five points behind Trenton and the final Northeast playoff spot. Reading is in a fifth place tie with Charlotte in the Northeast, one point ahead of Richmond.

LAST ACTION: The ‘Gades beat Atlantic City 3-1 here last night. Daniel Goneau and Lars Pettersen had a goal and assist. Marc Magliarditi made 38 saves. He carried a shutout into the final 2:30. The ‘Gades were out-shot 39-28. Reading dropped a 7-4 decision at home to Roanoke last night. The clubs combined for six third period goals. Remi Royer had a goal and assist.

‘GADES NOTES: Richmond has won four straight games, their longest winning streak since mid-November. A fifth straight win would equal their longest winning streak of the season (10/26 to 11/3; three of those wins came in overtime). The ‘Gades have won six straight home games by a combined score of 26-10. The ‘Gades have outscored opponents 12-4 over the streak. The Richmond has allowed two even strength goals in their last four games. The ‘Gades 23 home wins is the most in the league. Lars Pettersen was a runner up for ECHL Player of the Week. Marc Magliarditi was runner up for ECHL Goalie of the Week. The ‘Gades play nine straight road games in March. Richmond has lost their last eight road games and is winless is 10 straight away from home. Their six road wins is tied for fewest in the ECHL. Garret Stroshein remains on re-call with Portland of the AHL. He is the seventh ‘Gade to be called up this season. Lars Pettersen and Brad Church have points in six straight games. The ‘Gades have 10 former NHL draft picks on their roster. Daniel Goneau is tied for 11th in the league in scoring. Lars Pettersen is tied for 14th in the ECHL in points. Jon Zion is ninth in scoring by defensemen and leads the league in points by rookie D-men. Leon Hayward leads the ECHL in shorthanded goals by rookies (4). Marc Magliarditi is fifth in the league in minutes played. Brad Church is fifth in shots on goal. The ‘Gades are the least penalized team in the ECHL. They are fifth in penalty killing (83.1%), tied for second in shorthanded goals (14), and eighth in fewest shots on goal allowed (30.2 per game).

ROYALS NOTES: The loss last night snapped a four game home winning streak. Five Royals are away on AHL call-ups, including ex-Renegade Brian McCullough who was summoned to Manchester following last night's game. McCullough is the league's leading scorer. Brad Rooney is seventh in scoring. The Royals lead the ECHL in scoring with just under 3.8 goals per game. Reading is last in goals against average (4.07).

NEXT UP: The ‘Gades embark upon a nine game road trip starting Friday at Roanoke at 7:35 (7:20 WXGI 950). Reading hosts Trenton tomorrow afternoon.
