Arkansas RiverBlades News Release

Buddy Smith and Eric Long each tallied first period goals, but that was also Arkansas would get, as the Mississippi Sea Wolves came back to win 3-2 Saturday night in Biloxi.

Scott Fankhouser made 35 saves, and Matt Pagnutti tallied two assists, but it was not enough for the Blades, as Mississippi extended its unbeaten streak to six games.

Smith opened up the scoring with his 24th of the season at the 6:00 mark. Assisted by Matt Pagnutti, Smith lit the lamp just as a Mississippi penalty expired.

Eric Long then made it a 2-0 lead with his 13th of the campaign from Pagnutti and Smith on the power-play at 10:56.

Mississippi would then tie it with two second-period goals. The first came from Dave Paradise, who got his 31st goal at 6:13 from Jim Baxter and Chris Allen.

Then, just before the intermission, Austin Miller found the net with his 5th of the year, from Mike Scott and Patrick Rochon to deadlock the game at 2-2.

Dave Paradise then struck again for the game-winner, his 32nd of the year, from Patrick Rochon and Jim Baxter at the 11:00 mark of the third. Mississippi outshot Arkansas 38-35 for the game, and were 0-for-6 on the power-play. The RiverBlades were 1-for-9.

The RiverBlades return to action Thursday and Saturday in Lexington, and don't return home to the Alltel until Friday, March 14th for a huge divisional showdown with the Louisiana IceGators.
