Arkansas RiverBlades to Relocate or be Sold

Equity Broadcasting Corporation announced today that it has notified the ECHL that it plans to either move or sell the Arkansas RiverBlades hockey team. Arkansas Sports Entertainment Managing Director, Max Hooper, said the decision was a difficult one.

"The fan support has grown over the past two years and attendance figures were up, but we have not been successful in our attempts to make the RiverBlades profitable", Hooper said. "With Coach Chicocki's decision to leave Little Rock, we decided to re-evaluate our position with the team and came to the hard realization that there was little we could do to make the team profitable."

Hooper went on to say that this was one of the most difficult business decisions he's had to make, since it impacts not only the team and other employees, but also the RiverBlades Booster Club and all the people who have worked so hard to try to make the team a success.

Hooper went on to say, "The Arkansas Twisters continue to be a very viable organization and we have a long term commitment to Twisters Football in Arkansas."
