Chris Cichocki, the Arkansas RiverBlades Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, has chosen not to return to the team for the 2003-04 season.
Cichocki informed the team of his decision late last week. "We thank Chris for all his efforts to make the RiverBlades a success over the last three seasons," said Max Hooper, Managing Director of Arkansas Sports Entertainment. "We wish the Cichocki family the best of luck on their future endeavors."
During Cichocki's reign with Arkansas, the RiverBlades compiled a record of 102-79-35. Last season was Cichocki's most successful, as the Blades set team records with 37 wins and 85 points, finishing third in the ECHL's Southwest division. For his efforts, Cichocki was voted Head Coach of the Southern Conference All-Stars for the 2003 Compuware ECHL ALL-Star Game.
The RiverBlades search for a new Director of Hockey Operations/Head Coach will begin immediately. No timetable has been set to fill the position.
