
'Readers of the Round Table' Reading Program Takes Off

Upcoming week of June 2nd - June 15th:
· Monday, June 9th - Winger Jamie Cooke hosts an In-Line Hockey Clinic beginning today at the Rollerama located at1004 34th Street. Cooke will be running children from ages 5 - 12 through the drills that he uses everyday as a professional hockey player. Cooke's clinic will be from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday through Thursday.
· Monday, June 9th - Kern County Library, KGET-TV 17, and the Bakersfield Condors kick off "Readers of the Round Table" Summer Reading Program. Students who read a minimum of 10 books during the program will receive two free tickets to an early season Condors game. The program runs from June 9th to July 27th. Contact the Kern County Library at 868-0750 or log onto www.kerncountylibrary.org to sign up for the program or for more information.
· Tuesday, June 10th - Join Cal, the baby Condor and staff at the Taft Kern County Library for their Preschool Storytime from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. The Taft Library is located at 27 Emmons Park Drive in Taft. For More information contact the Taft Library at 763-3294.
· Thursday, June 12th- Join Cal, the baby Condor and staff at Tehachapi's Kern County Library, for Summer Reading Storytime from 10:30 am - 11:30 am. The Tehachapi Library is located at 450 West F Street in Tehachapi. For more information contact the Tehachapi Library at 822-4938.
· Friday, June 13th - Cal, the baby Condor, the Condors Slapshot and Condors Staff will be attending the Sears Logistics Company Picnic at the Delano Memorial Park from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Delano Memorial Park is located at 100 Lexington Street in Delano.
Week in Review:
· Monday, June 2nd - Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly took part in the summer's first real time live chat with a Condor.
· Thursday, June 5th - Cal, the baby Condor attended a Lancaster JetHawks baseball game. Baby Cal learned the ins & outs of baseball from KaBoom, the JetHawks mascot, as he took part in the JetHawks "All Mascot Night".
Condors Droppings:
· Bakersfield's 2003-2004 season schedule has been announced. The Condors will open their first season in the ECHL on Friday, October 17th, 2003 against the Fresno Falcons. Season tickets are now available with packages starting at just $48. Stop by the Condors office at Centennial Garden or call the Condors at 324-PUCK (7825) for more information.
· The Condors official retail outlet, the Condors Closet, is now operating on summer hours. It is open Monday through Friday, from 11:00 am until 5:30 pm. The "Spring Sale" is going on, giving a 20% discount on select Condors golf polos, assorted sweatshirts, jerseys and T-shirts. The Condors Closet is located at 1022 Truxtun Avenue, across from Centennial Garden.
